Greetings crazies! Today let’s jump right into another movie. We’re going to chat about the 2009 movie “Scare Zone.”
Let’s just get this out of the way now and say this movie was so good! Now, maybe I’m simply going insane from the amount of bad movies I’ve watched lately, but “Scare Zone” was a breath of fresh air. It wasn’t even “so bad it’s good” material; it was just plain good.
The movie starts out with introductions of all the main characters that you really shouldn’t get too attached to. Consider yourself warned! Scare Zone is a Halloween haunted house that owner, Oliver, puts on annually for three nights only. The attraction is a popular hangout that people travel far and wide for. There are funny moments and your share of jump scares as well. The acting is not superb and to be honest is quite laughable at times, but that didn’t deter me from enjoying it! There were some good acting mixed in. Spider, played by Neil Brown Jr., was my favorite character and Neil portrayed him perfectly! He was funny and likable and most importantly, sane! The movie ends with a pretty decent twist that actually managed to elude me, at least partially, and that’s saying something special!
Overall, I was impressed. I watched the movie from start to finish with no pausing or surfing the web on my phone. I was actually engrossed in the story all of the way until the end. And though I don’t often admit to letting twist endings get past me, I’ll admit I didn’t fully see this one coming. So grab that bag of popcorn, turn off all the lights, and prepare to enjoy the trek through Scare Zone: admission only $10!
And remember to be safe out there, darlings! After all, “No one can hear you scream… if they’re screaming too!”
See you tomorrow lovelies!
